Team RadioShack

RadioShack, the electronics retailer based in Texas, is being announced as the new title sponsor of Lance Armstrong’s cycling team.  This announcement ends speculation that the team will use Trek, Nike, or Livestrong as chief financier for the project.  Details on the team will be announced later today.

RadioShack sells electronics in stores and via cell phone kiosks both domestically and in Mexico.  There are over 6,500 RadioShack stores or kiosks in operation today.  RadioShack has seen its revenue erode by 17% yearly since 2005.  This increased spend in advertising could likely be an attempt to capture sales that were vacated by Circuit City, when they stopped operations late last year.

So what is your speculation … who will lance pull in … obviously not Contador. What about the rest of Astana. Who will Contador have next year. After descimating his team on the columbiere climb he can’t be leaving this years tours with many freinds.

Do you think that Brunel thinks lance has a chance to take the tour next year?
