Respect Timeline for Lance Armstrong

Here is my respect for Lance Armstrong Timeline  (respect measured on scale of 1-10):

1987 – 1990    Competes as Triathlete…..Respect Factor: 5

1991                Wins the US Amateur Cycling Championship…..Respect way up to 8

1993                Wins World Road Championship……Respect through the roof 10+

Wins Stage 8 at the Tour de France…..Respect through the roof 10+

Combs his hair in act of winning USPRO….Respect drops to 8

1994                2nd at Liege-Baston-Liege…..Respect climbs to 8

                        2nd as San Sebastian…………Respect still 8

1995                Wins Stage 15 of Tour de France…..Respect all the way up!  10

1996-1997       Diagnosed with Cancer and beats it!!!!  Respect: 10+

1998                Joins US Postal…..Respect drops to 8 for riding a Trek

1999                Wins 1st Tour de France, produces an exemption certificate after the fact when it becomes public that he tested positive for corcosteroids.     Respect drops to 5

2000-2005       Wins 6 more Tour de France titles among many rumors of doping use.  Never officially tests positive, but his attitude leaves much to be desired….Respect level 2 at the most

2008-2009       Lance announces that he will return to professional cycling and will be tested by an independent doctor regularly and post the results on the Web in an effort to be totally transparent.  Later his independent doctor admits that the logistics were never worked out, and the testing program does not exist.  Respect falls to 0!

Sadly, I’m afraid I have to agree. Pro-cycling needs people of his stature breaking their promises on anti-doping like it needs a hole in the head.

    Very disappointing.

I agree with John C. I just can’t bring myself to believe he was doping, though :/
