Team Scott- American Beef?

American Beef is the new sponsor of the Saunier Duval squad?  Sounds like a good relationship because American Beef doesn’t use any hormones in thier animals either…..right?

Vladimir Gusev Fired for Doping Infraction

Team Astana found irregularities in an internal team doping control test of Vladimir Gusev and immediately fired the rider.  The irregular results stem from an out of competition doping test that was carried out by Dr. Rasmus Damsgaard.  Damsgaard handles internal anti-doping efforts for several pro teams.  The test did not show any forbidden substances, but […]

Cadel’s Craziness

I like Cadel Evans, but his behavior at the Tour this year has been a little bit crazy.  Judge for yourself.

I Change My Mind

Two weeks ago, I was all hyped up for the Tour de France.  It was being billed as the biggest race of the year with an exciting route and a wide open field of contestants.  The first week was awesome.  It wasn’t just the normal bunch sprints every day.  It wasn’t a time trial specialist […]

I Respect Frank Schleck More Than Ever

Notice anything about Frank in the picture above?  He is wearing a yellow jersey.  Notice anything else?…..yellow shorts?…..yellow helmet?…..yellow shoes?…..yellow bike?  No way.  Frank does it the right way.  Wearing yellow doesn’t mean looking like a human school bus.  It is a yellow jersey, not a yellow outfit.  Props to Frank for doing it right.

To Catch a Doper

Bill Nye, the Urine Boiling Guy
How do you catch a doper?  Well, as the UCI and officials at the Giro D’Italia have shown, it isn’t that easy.  Ricardo Ricco has gone through countless doping controls this year and he wasn’t caught until he came to the Tour de France.  Are WADA, UCI, and Giro anti-dopage officials […]

Ricardo Ricco Makes the Podium

3rd place for getting caught doping this year goes to Ricardo Ricco of Saunier Duval.  I would like to be the first to congratulate Ricco in sneaking in a 3rd place finish in such tough competition.  He is certainly a rider to keep an eye on for future top drugging offenses.  Ricco is nicknamed “The […]

2nd Place and a Jail Cell goes to…..

Moises Duenas of Team Barloworld
Moises was tested last week and the result was non-negative for EPO.  He is awaiting the results of a backup sample.  The backup sample is most likely to be positive for EPO seeing that the French Police found doping substances in his hotel room.  A few other Barloworld riders mysteriously were […]

Positive Test #1

And the winner is……
Manuel Beltran
The first rider to test positive during this year’s Tour de France.  Beltran tested positive for EPO after stage #1.  Beltran was a teammate of Lance Armstrong during 3 of Lance’s 7 wins (insert whatever inference that you wish).  You can come to whatever conclusions you wish, but there are now five riders, by my count, that have […]

Lemond Vying For New Cycling Federation Presidency

It seems that Greg Lemond is trying to do more than just improve his public image….he is campaigning to be in the leadership team of the soon to be announced new international cycling federation.  Cyclingnews.com is reporting that Lemond said, “Cycling no longer needs the UCI.  The UCI is there to stamp licenses and make […]
