Remembering Sheldon Brown

Sheldon Brown was an institution in the bicycle world.  He died Sunday Feb 3, 2008 at the age of 63.  He was a self proclaimed bicycle guru, and hailed by most in the industry as the bicycle expert.  His website sheldonbrown.org contains photos, history, bicycle physics, and everything else you would want to know about your bicycle.  I don’t know how many times I have been stumped while working on my bike and found the answer free of charge from Sheldon’s site.  Sheldon represented everything that bicycles should be.  He was inclusive to everyone.  Beginners, tech-weinies, elite cyclist, or whatever.  Cycling was his passion, and wanted to share that love with everyone.  He is a true legend that will remembered in bicycle history forever.  We will miss you Sheldon.

I have always loved riding bicycles,
especially for the feeling of freedom and self-sufficiency that they give.
