Contador Makes Move to Astana Official
As reported earlier, Alberto Contador is moving to team Astana. He is now speaking of the deal in public making the move official. There were rumors for the last month that he might consider another team because of Astana’s doping record. He did not want Astana’s past to add to any rumors that he is involved in doping. The rumors all turned out to be false, because Alberto is now officially a member of Astana for 2008-2009. The team is plenty strong to help Alberto defend his Tour title next July. Levi Leipheimer is also rumored to be joining team Astana along with several other Discovery Channel riders.
