Hincapie Wins Stage 2 in Missouri
George Hincapie made it clear today that he wants to win the inaugural Tour of Missouri. A breakaway of about 10 riders rode much of the day about 15 minutes ahead of the main peloton. In the last 10 miles there were many attacks which George seemed to cover easily. It came down to a short sprint at the end, but George had the best legs in the group after sitting on other rider’s wheels during the entire 4 mile circuit to end the race.
George said, “It was a long and hot day, but I felt pretty good. This doesn’t guarantee me a win but it does put me a good position for the overall classification.”
