Deal of The Week: Light & Motion Solo Logic MV Li-ion $153!!!

Here we are, right in the middle of September.  Football is in full swing, so what happened to Summer?  I guess good things don’t last forever.  The way i see it, a cyclist has two choices this time of year…..1. Get properly outfitted for Fall/Winter riding, or…..2. Find a good place in your house for  your trainer.  Actually, I will be doing both, but I want to get as much road time in as possible before next summer.  To get hours in on the bike, I need a light.  Every day we are losing precious minutes of daylight, and the time will change in October, making it very, very dark at the times that I am available to ride.  A good lighting system can make it safe to ride during these dark times.

Here is a great deal on a light that is hard to pass up:

Light & Motion Solo Logic MV Li-ion

Light & Motion is a great lighting system that started gaining big time popularity a few years ago at the 24 hours of Moab.  The lights they produce have the most even beam on the market (no halos or dark spots).  Here are some of the incredible features found on the Solo Logic:

This unit is on sale at Bike Nashbar
This weekend only it is being sold for 179.95 + an additional 15% off.  That is $153, and the best deal I could find anywhere else for the li-ion version is $240.  As my buddy Rich says, “That’s a smokin’ deal!”

Put one in my shopping cart and I am ready to brave the dark.

How safe do you really feel riding in the dark? I mean are these lights bright enough that you feel like you can see the little road hazards well enough to avoid them? I used to night ride decades ago, but that was central Illinois where I could put in an hour on backroads without meeting a car. I still went down a few times due to road seams, blown out concrete chunks, etc. Lights were jury-rigged and not good; are these new systems that much better?

These light systems are very bright. If you had one of these back when you were riding in central illinois, you wouldn’t have gone down at all due to road seams or any other obstacle. The trick is still dodging cars, but seeing obstacles in the road is not a problem. In fact…many people use these to ride off road on mountain bikes, where there are many many more obstacles than on the road. They don’t have any problem seeing the way.
