Boonen Wins Stage 6 and Is Vino Done?
Boonen Wins
Tom Boonen out-sprinted Oscar Freire to take victory in stage 6 of the Tour de France today. It was a big win for Boonen. He has had many doubters lately that claim he cannot hang with the real sprinters. Today’s win should silence those doubters. It was a commanding win, and it was against the best sprinters in the biggest race. Hey Tom: That is a nice lookin’ bike.
Vino Done?
Alexander Vinokourov started stage 6 today after his bad crash yesterday. He looked like a mummy because of all of the bandages he was sporting today. Several websites that are covering the Tour claim that Vino looked to be in alot of pain today. During the coverage on cyclingnews.com, it was said that “[Vino] gives a sign - a slice across the throat - perhaps indicating that he’s done.”
