If You Are Going to Cheat…
If you are going to cheat, it is to your advantage to follow through. Ivan Basso, today, received a two year ban for attempted doping. That is the same ban that he would have received had he actually doped. This means that thinking about cheating is just as bad as actually cheating. Don’t get me wrong, I think that Basso is guilty of more than just attempting to cheat, but his punishment was only for the attempt. This whole situation seems silly to me. If I were to attempt to kill someone, I wouldn’t be given the death penalty. There have to be degrees to the punishments. One punishment does not fit all crimes.
