The Executioner Will Act on June 19th

The UCI has called a special mandatory meeting for all 20 of the Pro Tour teams.  They have said that the meeting will discuss the sport’s negative image because of the numerous doping scandals.  The meeting will take place on June 19th, and there is no published agenda.  It is widely speculated that UCI will use the meeting to issue a list of riders that will be banned from the Tour de France.

My only question here is….Why does the UCI wait until the Tour de France to act on anything?  Is the Tour de France the only bicycle race?  The UCI needs to get it’s act together and act immediately upon receiving credible evidence.  Waiting until a week before the Tour to ban riders only adds to the PR problem.
